Spiraling Count
1, breathe, eat, scream, smile.
Johnson and Johnson powdered feet
Fed at the baby seat
The path may take a while.
5, tapped into four dimensions
Playing, acting, speaking, thinking.
crazy charismatic winking.
Freedom of expressions.
10, creativity dwindling
school, class, repression.
Pay close attention!
Eagles soaring, flying
20 lost in a whirlwind
Walking paths to a dead end.
Wait, run, no but… you can’t hide.
Nobody knows about your other side.
40 Settled, yielded
To the idea of being kindred
You think you got it all
But then begins the fall
80 Wise and grand
Only greater with demands
Slow sturdy and bleak
Your story remains unique
A Spectrum of Thought
Radical, fundamental, extremal,
Ideologies that are impractical.
Religion, politics and debate
Objection submission check mate
Left, center or right,
An end in no sight.
Division, tension, fragmentation,
A painful cry for attention.
Power, lust and greed,
A temptation that plants a seed.
The roots that cement the grief,
Of so many whose lives are bleak.
The tables have been set,
To welcome those who are in debt.
Not financially nor emotionally,
But simply those who lack of morality.
Populism will not reign,
For those who are practical and sane.
But remember we are privileged and entitled
Thanks to those who risked their own lives for our survival.
Ode to Contempt
Please, stop, no, wait, cry, tear.
Absolutes and ultimatums, no way near;
The goals and dreams you tried to pursue,
Abstract objectives that never came true.
Fear, pain, mourn, loss, tragedy,
Those you loved become a fantasy.
An illusion of sorts that leave you in despair,
Promises you failed to keep, a haunting nightmare.
Alone, abandoned, left astray,
All you have left is yourself to blame.
You wait for something that will never come,
To some, a lifelong journey that has become undone.
The question is what to do, what to say.
You ponder and dismiss that there could have been another way.
The only thing that keeps you alive
Are those who are willing to see you strive.
